Resource Management Working Group
The mission of the NCSCP Resource Management Working Group is to identify issues regarding longleaf ecosystem management in a landscape with mixed ownership (public and private), and develop recommendations to resolve those issues. Objectives include:
- Optimize the ability of land managers to cooperatively apply landscape management concepts on conservation lands
- Establish opportunities for the exchange of information and ideas between conservation land managers
- Provide forested habitat buffers around and linkages between, existing conservation lands
- Encourage private landowners to manage their lands in a manner compatible with natural resource management of public lands and private conservation lands
- Establish opportunities for the exchange of information and ideas with private landowners
Additionally, 3 groups were formed based on recommendations from the NCSCP Resource Management Working Group. These include:
- Land Manager's Working Group
- Private Landowner Council
- NC Sandhills Prescribed Fire Council
