The NCSCP continues to seek input from over 27 partner organizations as it implements and revises a landscape-level strategic conservation plan for the NC Sandhills. Additionally, representatives of North Carolina landowners, consulting foresters, pine needle harvesters, and the real estate industry attend meetings and participate in the working groups that handle the general activities of the partnership because they have an interest in the NCSCP's dealings.
U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE
The mission of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. In the North Carolina Sandhills, the Service's priority is to promote the recovery of the red-cockaded woodpecker and other endangered, threatened and federal species of concern endemic to the longleaf pine ecosystem.
NC STATE PARKS
The mission of the state parks system is to conserve and protect representative examples of the natural beauty, ecological features and recreational resources of statewide significance; to provide outdoor recreational opportunities in a safe and healthy environment; and to provide environmental education opportunities that promote stewardship of the state's natural heritage.
By gathering and sharing information about rare species and natural communities, North Carolina’s Natural Heritage Program ensures public access to information that is needed to weigh the ecological significance of natural areas and to evaluate potential ecological impacts of conservation and development projects.
NC NATURAL HERITAGE PROGRAM
The mission of the Longleaf Alliance is to ensure a sustainable future for longleaf pine ecosystems. They work throughout the Southeast U.S. to guide longleaf restoration, stewardship, and conservation using science-based outreach, partnership engagement, and on-the-ground assistance.
THE LONGLEAF ALLIANCE
The NC Sandhills PBA connects landowners and the general public to training, equipment, and educational programs to increase effectiveness and safety of prescribed fires on private lands. PBAs help manage risk by ensuring appropriate preparations are in place before each burn, including assisting with burn plans, procuring equipment, creating adequate fire breaks, and helping ensure a sufficient team of support is present.

NC Sentinel Landscapes is an innovative partnership focused on collaboration and coordination between farmers and foresters, conservationists, and military installations in order to provide mutual benefits to protect the state’s two largest economic sectors: agriculture and defense.

JCA, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm that specializes in protected species surveys, preparation of Biological and Environmental Assessments, wetland delineations, permitting and mitigation, and land management in the Carolina’s and the Southeastern United States.
